About Us
"Whole Child, Whole Family"
Who we are:
The Center for Pediatric Therapy is a comprehensive and dynamic private practice located in Wyomissing, PA. We provide a wide array of pediatric therapy services for children with sensory processing, motor, developmental, orthopedic, communication, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
We believe in the “whole child, whole family”. Our therapists encourage active participation from caregivers both during sessions and at home, as their involvement is critical to the child’s progress. Parents and other caregivers are welcome to join in with therapeutic activities when applicable, and will always receive feedback from their therapist following treatment sessions. This information helps the family to carry over important skills and strategies learned in therapy into the home environment between sessions.
We believe in relationships. Relationships are created in a supportive and family-oriented treatment environment that cultivates learning, self-confidence and functional independence.
We believe that our therapy environment is where children and parents discover their strengths. Here they can learn concepts, develop skills and carry over learned activities or strategies into their daily lives and routines to maximize progress. Therapy is a “catalyst”…It is only when skills are carried over and generalized beyond the therapy environment that true independence and success is achieved.
We believe in collaboration and encourage communication among therapists, parents, and other professionals. This is vital in order to develop a comprehensive treatment program that addresses the “whole” child and extends into the environments where the child lives, plays and learns.

Our history:
The Center for Pediatric Therapy started in 2000 as a small occupational therapy practice, specializing in sensory processing & integration treatment. We carefully listened to parents and other professionals in the community regarding their interests and need for more comprehensive, personally focused services. The move to our current location in 2003 allowed room for additional growth. The vision quickly blossomed into the array of services we offer today. Input from our families and the community will continue to fuel future plans for exciting new services and programs.
Our philosophy:
We are dedicated to serving children with special needs. Each child has his or her own set of strengths and challenges that must first be assessed before an effective treatment approach can begin. To increase the likelihood of the child's independence and success in the future, it is essential that we work with all aspects of his or her life: home, school, and community.
We are also committed to education, training and support of parents, teachers and caregivers, whose efforts and skills are the foundation of a child's success.
